The Location of the Garden of Eden The Garden of Eden was on the Euphrates and Tigris rivers, at their junction with the Pishon and Gihon (2:10–14). The Pishon and Gihon have not been identified. The Euphrates and Tigris originate in the Caucasus mountain region of southwest Asia, flow southeastward, and empty into the Persian Gulf (see map). Two possible locations have been suggested, one near the headwaters of the Tigris and Euphrates, the other near the mouth of the Euphrates in ancient Babylonia.
